Lara graduated in 2025 from the University of York with a 2:1 in English Literature and History of Art. Before university, Lara achieved A grades in A-level English Literature, Sociology, and Art. She has a strong background in analysis and critical thinking, and she was also the captain of her secondary school’s debate team.
Lara previously worked as a literacy tutor in a secondary school, helping young people between the ages of 11 and 18 who struggled with reading, spelling, and comprehension. She was also responsible for tutoring students who required extra help in the lead-up to exams. Here she gained experience providing one-to-one and small group support. Lara is passionate about building confidence in students and making the study of English as approachable and enjoyable as possible. She loves encouraging creative thinking and fostering unique ideas.
Outside of tutoring, Lara enjoys creative pursuits such as reading, film and drawing. She is also an avid follower of Formula 1, ice hockey, and IndyCar!
