Matt graduated with a First Class degree in English Language and Linguistics from King’s College London and holds a CELTA qualification awarded with Pass A. He specialises in helping students develop strong academic reading, writing, and critical thinking skills through clear, structured tutoring that builds both confidence and independence. He is currently working toward a PGCE, with a particular focus on teaching younger learners from KS2 in preparation for commencing GCSEs.
He has extensive experience working 1-1 and in small groups. He creates an engaging and supportive learning environment while maintaining high academic expectations. He supports students in organising their ideas effectively, developing precise academic vocabulary, and communicating clearly in both written and spoken English – skills essential for success across international school curricula. He has consistently achieved high student retention rates and strong exam outcomes, helping learners grow in both competence and self belief.
Matt is highly skilled at adapting lessons to individual learning needs and strengthening students’ foundations in reading, writing, and analytical thinking. Matt has a genuine passion for language and education and is committed to helping students reach their full potential through clear guidance, structured learning, and encouragement.
In his free time, Matt enjoys exploring new places and meeting new people. He plays the guitar and has performed at concerts for many years. Now based in Vietnam, he is keen to explore the country as much as possible.
