Our Math Tutor programs are always tailored to match the specific curriculum taught in each student’s school.
We include coverage of the International Baccalaureate (IB), the Cambridge IGCSE & A-Level and the American Common Core and Advanced Placement Programs. Each of these programs have their own different focuses and challenges.
OUR APPROACH
At ITG, we have developed our own unique system of mentoring called CAMIO, where we help students build the confident mindset they need to make the most of their education.
After 10 years of experience in HCMC International schools, we have learnt our students often struggle in key areas in Math:
1. VOCABULARY / WORD QUESTIONS
Students can often struggle to understand what the question is actually asking because they lack language skills. As your math tutor, we teach the meaning of key words and phrases so you can easily recognise the math problem behind the language.
2. Real Life Problem Questions
International School Math doesn’t just require students to repeat calculations that they can learn by rote. They want students who can think critically about how to apply mathematics to real life problems. The main challenge is identifying what mathematics approach is needed and being willing to experiment. We build the skills needed for students to problem solve successfully for themselves.
3. Mathematical Confidence
One of the biggest challenges facing students who struggle in math can be a fear of the subject and a belief they simply ‘cannot do math’. We know how crucial confidence is, and as a math tutor, we help students challenge their ‘math-phobia’ by giving them step-by-step support. OUR MATH TUTORS
All of our Mathematic Tutors are required to have a math or math-related degree with a high passing grade. Crucially, they have taken the same exams our students are taking, such as IGCSEs, the IB and A-Levels, and they know firsthand what it takes to succeed.

International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program - Mathematics (IB-MYP)
Success in IB MYP Mathematics comes from mastering concepts, developing inquiry skills, and applying math in meaningful, real-world contexts.
With a focus on communication, collaboration, and reflection, MYP Mathematics requires students to do much more than just understand calculations.
Our tutors focus on empowering learners to think critically and confidently, encouraging them to embrace the challenges of MYP and fully prepare for the Diploma Program.
International Baccalaureate Diploma Mathematics (IB Math AA and AI)
The IB-DP Math program is one of the hardest secondary school math qualifications in the world. It demands more than routine calculation — it requires students to justify methods, construct mathematical arguments, and communicate reasoning with clarity and precision.
Both courses place a strong emphasis on mathematical thinking, exploration, and the ability to apply concepts in unfamiliar, often interdisciplinary contexts.
