Our Science tutors adapt each session to perfectly match each school’s curriculum.

Over many years ITG has developed expertise in the International Baccalaureate (IB), the Cambridge IGCSE & A-Level and the Advanced Placement (AP) Programs.

OUR APPROACH

At ITG, we have developed our own unique system of mentoring called CAMIO, where we help students build the confident mindset they need to make the most of their education.

We balance our tutoring against students’ classes in school. Firstly, we work just behind the school syllabus making sure students fully understand the content in each new unit so that no further gaps appear.

Once students are successfully following their school classes, we we take time to review the previous year’s curriculum to make sure there are no historic misunderstandings which may limit their progress.

Over the last 10 years, we have also found our Science students can struggle in a number of key areas:

1. Vocabulary / Science Terminology

Each science has its own language which is challenging for every student and especially for students with English as a second language.

We help students build a comprehensive overview of what questions are asking them to do and how to accurately use precise terminology.

2. Syllabus size / Breadth of content

Students can really struggle to learn the amount of material required of them across all three sciences. This is especially true for IB / A-Level and IGCSE science where the step up is so big from the lower years of study.

Students can really benefit from support that helps them prepare for these new demands.

OUR SCIENCE TUTORS

We require all of our Science Tutors to possess a science degree at a high level from a leading international university. Importantly they have also sat the same exams our students are taking, such as IGCSEs, the IB and A-Levels, and they know firsthand what it takes to succeed.

As well as subject expertise, our science tutors are also patient, caring and supportive whilst each student takes the time they need to conquer the challenges of Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

SUBJECTS OFFERED

Primary and Lower School Science

Typically it is not necessary for students to need science tutoring before Grade 9. However, some students who are new to the subject may need support with science vocabulary and understanding the approach to scientific thinking and experimentation.

IGCSE Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Coordinated Science

Our expert IGCSE science tutors develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills in students. They nurture scientific literacy, data interpretation, and practical application across Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Coordinated Sciences.

Emphasis is placed on exam technique, conceptual understanding, and independent learning—equipping students to think scientifically and excel with confidence.

A-Level Biology, Chemistry and Physics

Emphasis is on exam technique, independent learning, and scientific fluency for success in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

IB Biology, Chemistry and Physics

Advanced Placement: AP Biology, Chemistry and Physics
