Sooria graduated from Imperial College London in 2019 with an MEng in Mechanical Engineering, specialising in advanced mathematics, mechanics, and design. His academic background is underpinned by A* grades in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, reflecting a strong foundation in analytical thinking and problem-solving across the Sciences.

During his studies, Sooria conducted research into pedagogical theory, focusing on how threshold concepts are taught within the field of mechanical engineering. This experience has shaped his ability to explain complex ideas clearly and supports his thoughtful and student-focused approach to teaching.

Since graduating, he has worked in UK manufacturing with leading industry organisations and has been a STEM ambassador, promoting science and engineering to young learners.

Sooria is passionate about helping students build confidence, independence, and a strong foundation in the subjects he teaches. He believes in creating an encouraging learning environment where students can take ownership of their progress.

Beyond teaching, Sooria enjoys staying active and is an avid climber and runner. He’s currently learning German at B2 level and teaching himself to swim.
