Joey graduated from Liverpool John Moores University in 2009 with a Bachelors of Science degree with honours.

After a career in the criminal justice system, which included achieving a number of professional qualifications, Joey left to pursue a career in Primary School teaching. Joey completed his PGCE through York St John University, gaining valuable experience as a classroom teacher while completing his training. After achieving his Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK, Joey was employed full time at Viewhill Academy as a lead Primary School teacher, teaching all subjects in the UK National Curriculum.

Joey added to his teaching experience by completing a TEFL course to further his knowledge of teaching students outside of the UK. Joey is a keen traveller and has spent time in Japan, Vietnam, Thailand and many European countries.

Outside of teaching, he enjoys playing sports, walking, hiking and keeping fit and healthy.
